| 47041 | 2002-05-04 06:22:00 | Hi neil - Bazza posted this imfo a while back for somebody and i had forwarded it to somebody else too - thought it might be worth checking the settings on - well getting them to check their setttings (sisters) i should say- if you can't hear her perhaps its her settings - So anyway heres the advice Bazza gave : Hello Keith: I dont know about WinXP, but for Win95/98 the settings for microphone are tricky. You dont want to hear your mic from your pc speakers, to avoid feedback. But you do want other talk & recording programs to hear your mic. In Win95/98, this is how it is done: Setup the windows mixers to mute your mic on playback. When you click on the speaker icon in the system tray, the first mixer displayed is the 'Play' control. This controls what is heard from the speakers. Tick the little square to 'mute' your mic. There is also a 'Record' control. This controls the audio for recording/talking programs. You get to this from the play control, by clicking on options/properties/recording/ok. Tick the little square to 'select' your mic, and adjust the mic level. Now, others can hear you, you can hear them, but your mic wont feedback. Is this any help Keith? Hope Bazzas advice helps as he is always helping out on here with good advice! Along with lots of others! |
