47284 2002-05-05 12:43:00 I run both Win me and mandrake Linux 8.1 on one of my systems, the dual boot utility that was installed by default when I setup mandrake 8.1 (Nothing fancy like boot magic).

I want to change the default boot setting to boot windows, instead of mandrake 8.1. I use windows 80% of the time and it has become a real pain in the neck to wait until the boot screen appears, and then select windows (3 sec timer). I have had a look around the help files and general settings in mandrake 8.1, however have had no luck.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Liam

47285 2002-05-05 13:10:00 What bootloader are you using? Lilo? Grub?

I would believe in both Lilo and Grub you would just have to change the default to windows.

Edit the /etc/lilo changing the line where default=<name of label>

If it's Grub I would assume it's in the /etc directory but you'll have to look for it as I use lilo.

47286 2002-05-05 23:58:00 Further to the previous reply. Go to mandrake control center, click-boot -boot config -configure -bootloader main option box click ok -select windows then click modify -click default -click ok then click done.
hope this helps Mike.
