| 47210 | 2002-05-05 06:34:00 | I am running ME and when i start up 2\3 the way through the task bar loading the comp trys to acsess the 'A' drive then dails up the internet. any ideas. start up file as follows :PCHealth,scanreg,taskmonitor,sys tray,load power profile,tweakui,matrox powerdesk,LVComs,inCD,NAVagent,statemgr,scriptBloc king,TrueVecor,ZoneAlarm,Getright,run= | Guest (0) | ||

| 47212 | 2002-05-05 07:11:00 | You are running Norton Antivirus? Check it's update schedual, you might find that it tries to connect to check for updates when you load windows. If this does not answer your problem... My advice is use startup.cpl (avalibale on last months cd (i think or the month before) to see what is being loaded. Uncheck all things that look suspect, and then reboot, you have the option to run each program that you selected not to run, this should help you pin point the program that is trying to dial. |
