| 47463 | 2002-05-06 13:51:00 | My computer in acordance to the bios, sits at a tempreture of aproximatly 50 degrees, the same goes for my graphics card. I am running a amd 1600+ and a gefore 2 mx400 64mb graphics card. I have been told that the ideal tempreture of a system is 15-40 degrees. Is my tempreture too hight, how do i decrease it? I have five fans, including the build in ones on the motherboard and graphics card | Guest (0) | ||

'ideal tempreture of a system is 15-40 degrees.' thats refering to case temp not cpu temp. suggest you look at the cpu heatsink and airflow around it. make sure its not sucking in hot air. other than that you need to get a better heatsink. (this is assuming the temp sensor is reading right) |

If its stable & the temp does not shoot up & down, don't worry. The cooler the better though and, as tweak'e says a good heat sink & fan with plenty of fresh air coming in & good access out again will help achieve this. HTH Murray P |
