| 47425 | 2002-05-06 10:25:00 | Hi, I've just done the 'click here to upgrade to ie6' routine. Now I can no longer use the Windows Update site. The message is 'opening redir.dll, would you like to open or save' clicking open asks for a program to open it with, save saves it in a directory on the hdd..for u to open later....with what program? Anyway, how to access Windows Update with win98 & ie6??? |

I haven't got round to fixing it yet. I would suggest looking in Tools, Internet Options and Advance Options. Maybe disabling Install on demand or anything else that may seem irrelevant. You could try holding down a key to stop it from installing. I am not sure which key it would be possibly alt or shift not ctrl as that refreshes the cache. I wish I was on the computer now that is having trouble so I could figure out why it's happening. Using the update address is no good as it's a redirector to the ?redir part and that's when you have it trying to open/save it. |
