47373	2002-05-06 05:04:00	Just had to do a full restore on my Compaq PC. Previously I had configured the dial-up to not screech when logging on...can't remember how, can anybody help. Additonally, can anybody give me the URL for the Windows 98 SE patch that stops the PC from 'hanging' when shutting down. One more thing...previously I had a little xtra icon to connect with, I don't seem to have it now and have to open my browser or email to connect. Please...any help. Thanks in Advance.	Guest (0)
47374	2002-05-06 05:20:00	The patch and others are available from the windows update site. In your start/programs thee might be a link there for Windows Update, otherwise open IE and go Tools/Windows Updates and that will take you there. Once the page has loaded click on Product updates, you will be prompted to accept MS downloads, click yes and you are away. The volume for the modem, try Settings/dialup networking, right click on your default dialup and it will be in there, I cannot be too specific as I cannot access it on this work system. For the dial up icon, settings/dialup as above, right click your connection and create short cut, that will appear on your desktop and you just drag it to suit yourself. Hope that helps.	Guest (0)
