1299271 2012-09-06 08:48:00 I need to check that I am not blocking traffic from port 34000 from my router, or i need to establish a way for it to communicate with port 34000. I am using a android app called isyncr wi-fi and I can not get the router and isyncr on my wifi to talk and their suggestion is the above (blog.jrtstudio.com bottom section configuring router)

I am unsure how to do this once I have logged into the router admin. Any help would be much appreciated.

1299272 2012-09-06 09:10:00 Usually your router wouldn't block anything on the firewall for any internal network communication, it only blocks stuff coming in from the internet.
If you're connected to the wireless of the router then your phone and PC are on the same network and the firewall in the router won't be doing anything with the firewall.
Have you configured the firewall in Windows as they show on the page as well?
You don't have any 3rd party firewall installed on your PC?

Yes configured firewall as per their recommendation. Don't think I have any 3rd party. Just run mse and super anti spyware ( I think its called that, the one with the little yellow spider in the icon tray)

1299274 2012-09-06 09:55:00 Almost guaranteed to be the PC, those routers by default don't block multicast traffic IIRC. Chilling_Silence (9)

Any crafty tricks to try and find out what the issue might be ?

1299279 2012-09-07 21:24:00 yup done the ping test, got 4 sent and 4 recieved and 0% loss, so presuming this is ok ? globe (11482)
1299280 2012-09-08 00:14:00 Well that indicates that the connection between them is ok so as Chill said you should be looking at the PC for the problem not the router. If I am wrong I am sure someone will point it out before long:) CliveM (6007)
