1298084 2012-08-31 07:47:00 I am wondering what I would need to add a second monitor to my current setup. Currently got a 17 inch philips lcd. Have Windows 7 installed.

Any thoughts?

1298085 2012-08-31 07:54:00 I would say you would only need a second monitor. Nothing else, should just be plug and go. Nick G (16709)
1298086 2012-08-31 08:03:00 As long as you have something better than integrated graphics of course :) pcuser42 (130)
1298087 2012-08-31 09:04:00 A graphics card with 2 monitor ports I use a cheap Asus one and have one monitor plugged into VGA and the other into the DVI port. I use this card

1298088 2012-08-31 09:07:00 What outputs does your video card have?
I assume your 17" LCD is VGA only, so your new monitor will need to be compatible with one of the other outputs on your card, or you will need an adaptor to convert one of the outputs to something the monitor supports.

So a modern monitor will have a HDMI, so you should be fine.
