1275065 2012-05-13 10:09:00 Remember a few months ago when I posted about a friend dropping her laptop (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) and breaking the HDD? Well she's gone and done it again with her new laptop

Except this time, plugging the drive into my PC causes Disk Management and Explorer to hang until minutes after it's unplugged. Needless to say the drive is being replaced, again

Fortunately this time I had the drive from her old laptop so could just use that instead of buying a new one, it's healthy.

I'm thinking of putting in an SSD instead next time she drops it, she's not particularly careful with technology...

I know some people like that. Being near them when they're (ab)using something makes me cringe...

And again, for about the 90th time, while at a friends who has a new business, new (old crappy) PC and new website have told her to BACK IT UP! And imagine it when she loses, the site, the accounts, the emails, the files for the business and so on. Yet again she agreed what a disaster it would be.

bet she doesn't.

1275070 2012-05-14 07:34:00 This abusive treatment can, to a large extent be blamed on advertising and films, TV etc. How many times do you see a Notebook being used on the beach, on a duvet, operator eating and drinking, slamming the lid shut etc? Bunch of idiots! mzee (3324)
