1274209 2012-05-08 01:54:00 Presuming they're just doing some description of proxying / tunnelling to certain overseas-based services, which is why they say you need to use their DNS, so they can redirect things as needed through their proxy :)

Looks cool though, and the pricing is pretty decent even up against normal ISPs

1274210 2012-05-08 03:28:00 Still better IMO to use a VPN service such as HMA, that way you can still access the services outside of your home internet connection. Also I wouldn't know what policies their overseas servers had regarding your data, international stuff etc.

Then again, this isn't a BAD idea. I'd like to see what the latency is like. That's the main reason i'd prefer an VPN, being able to switch from a NZ connection to an encrypted one.

Pricing is very decent though. Just gotta hope the speed and latency don't reflect those prices

1274211 2012-05-08 05:30:00 Maxnet tend to do things properly, this looks pretty promising. Pricing is good too. If you read the terms and conditions of a lot of US/Europe video streaming sites, I think you'd find this is probably not in accordance. :p wratterus (105)
1274212 2012-05-08 06:26:00 Probably not, but the way that Fyx word it, they're basically absconding from all responsibility and placing it on you the customer :D Chilling_Silence (9)
1274213 2012-05-08 07:13:00 Don't most of those US only services maintain a blacklist of proxies & won't they be obligated to add FYX to that list? Greven (91)

Air New Zealand's new payment card could be loaded with United States dollars and used to pay for services which do not accept normal New Zealand-issued credit cards,

1274216 2012-05-09 03:14:00 Netflix accepts my NZ Visa Debit. Not sure about other services though. The Error Guy (14052)
