2012-05-07 21:47:00 | Thats nasty, I would be making enquiries with the "someone he knows" also and find out if he/she is a victim or knew about it. | Iantech (16386) | |
2012-05-07 22:08:00 | EDIT: we run Nod32 on local pcs, bit pissed the email server antivirus let it in TBH Is it set to scan correctly and not just as default setting ? Also are the definitions actually up to date. | wainuitech (129) | |
2012-05-07 22:40:00 | Is it set to scan correctly and not just as default setting ? Also are the definitions actually up to date. Nod is set to do a 1/week full scan and thats all. A bit of advice here Wainui would be much appreciated Definitions update almost daily on automatic Nod let him run the exe but then all hell broke loose afterwards

2012-05-07 22:52:00 | no Probs, I'll post some instructions on how I set them up. Got to do a job at the moment 9.45, but I'll try to get them done ( with pictures) when I get back. | wainuitech (129) | |
2012-05-07 23:32:00 | Well if that article is correct and the attacks are so individual and not wide spread then I can understand NOD32 missing it. | CYaBro (73) | |
2012-05-08 02:24:00 | re post #4 This is how I always set Nod up. Please note, the pictures are using Smart Security, but the Antivirus section is the same. This is also version 5 Open Nod32 main window - On the left Setup - Computer ( 1st pic) Then Configure- Setup -- Under Objects / Options tick everything, Under cleaning set to strict 3774 3775 For scanning since you have already set it to do a weekly scan -- Open the scan settings, Tools - Scheduler Select your scan you have made - Edit - click through the existing settings, you will finally get to the scan options, make sure its set to In depth then to the right, Setup Again under Under Objects / Options tick everything, cleaning - Strict. 3776 Done. There area few more if you want to go overboard, but I find it not necessary.

2012-05-09 00:58:00 | EDIT: we run Nod32 on local pcs, bit pissed the email server antivirus let it in TBH NOD32 isnt the perfect AV, it DOES let some some malware through . No AV is perfect & its a bit unrealistic to expect every variation of malware be detected. :) Have you updated to the latest NOD32 Exch AV ?? (Im assuming you are running exchange) .There was an older version of Nod Exch AV recently obseleted . Is the Exch Server AV updating ?? Perhaps setup the Exch/AV or block all .exe attatchments ( & .bat etc) in emails
