| 1275035 | 2012-05-20 23:38:00 | It's not like any of us are actually going to buy this thing anyway :) I picked an SSD and HDD to keep the price about the same, Iantech went the whole hog. Although I wouldn't go for an intel 320 it's a relatively slow SSD, a 520 is probably a better match for the rest of the hardware. It's also a bit limited by what the website currently has available in it's parts list. |

| 1275039 | 2012-05-21 03:07:00 | Yeah agreed, I usually buy Home premium but when the bill is 6k the difference seems minor. I did discover this week that home premium won't schedule backups to a network drive or NAS so that was part of the reasoning. Does pro have media centre? if so it would do. I was trying for an IPS monitor and assumed at that price the samsung was(it isn't), Dell have one around the same price that is IPS so probably I'd go for that. Even if I won lotto I'm not sure I'd truly go for a 6 core i7, an Ivybridge i7 is probably overkill enough and significantly cheaper. Ditch the monitor altogether( I have an AOC 27" that's not bad), go for 155 instead, get a cheaper version of windows, and the price drops more than $1500 |
