| 1274429 | 2012-05-11 01:27:00 | <snip> And are the 'extended warranties' they sell borderline fraud ?? Extended warranties are a cream-on-the-top product for retailers. A small proportion of the fee goes to the insurance company underwriting the 'warranty', but most of the fee is pure profit that goes straight into the retailer's greasy back pocket. |

| 1274431 | 2012-05-11 06:46:00 | There is next to no margin in electronics these days, I think the timeframes attached to the life of electronics is unreasonable. Things are getting dirt cheap, they are cheap for a reason. You can buy a No Frill Electric Drill for $29 and you would expect it to have the same life span as a $300-$600+ drill? I don't think it's fair to say a certain product should have this life span when that certain product can have a price range of $10-$1000 differences... I still believe you get what you paid for... | SKT174 (1319) | ||
| 1274432 | 2012-05-11 06:57:00 | I was taking to a guy in Appliance parts in Henderson a few weeks ago. He said the average life of a washing machine is around 5 years. My F&P 400 is somewhere around 35 years old as is still running sweet. If it does break down a total retard can trouble shoot and repair it no electronics at all. Closest thing to electronics on it is the bowl hot water heater thermostat. Now how cool is that? the washing machine heats its own water. | prefect (6291) | ||

We got one too, it's dads, next to the 15yr old electronic one. We also have two more spares in the garage just in case :D |
