Hi all, our street in Grey Lynn now has fibre optic cables, orcon knocked on the door and offered us a wonderful deal except it was an minimum 18 month contract and if we want to cancel we still have to pay for the whole 18 months which isn't on as far as I'm concerned. Anyone tried this thing yet and if so who would you recommend as an alternative to orcon? ta for any help |

Most Fibre places require 24 month contracts, certainly with the likes of all the providers I've spoken to. 18 months is nothing, and considering there's nothing better on the market than Fibre .... Unless you can't afford it, you're not gonna get anything better :D |

It doesn't take much to realise why they have to impose these contarct times. My free-to-me Orcon installation must have cost somebody $3k plus.
You might also need to take into consideration that free installations aren't guaranteed beyond 2012. |
