| 47703 | 2002-05-08 03:29:00 | We have a 4 computer Win98 peer-to-peer network which connects to the internet via internet connection sharing on one of the machines. We have intermittent but ongoing problems of the connection staying connected for 50 minutes and then re-dialling a few minutes later. I have tried all of the answers from the microsoft knowledge base (fixed IP addresses for all computers, host file, re-instal ICS, etc) but still the problem persists. Visual observation of the connection status indicates a burst of 65kb every couple of minutes - even when the ICS host is disconnected from the rest of the network. Ideas please |

| 47704 | 2002-05-08 10:55:00 | get rid of internet connection sharing and use this proxy server found at www.analogx.com ver 4.10 is good and its FREE. It is so easy to use, it has comprehensive instructions in a read me file and is able to to customised to your liking. MS utilities normally are dumbed down and have huge hole in sercurity. |
