| 47661 | 2002-05-07 23:46:00 | I am using a HP Deskjet 640c and have tried all the options that I can think of to make the printer set Portrait as its default but every time it returns to Landscape. I have even reinstalled the driver but with no effect. Any thoughts or suggestions please. |

Right click on your printer icon, and choose Properties. Click on Printing Preferences and set what you want it to be (portrait) and click OK to close all the windows. If theres no Printing preferences tab, look through the printer properties for anywhere else you could change it from landscape to portrait, and click OK. Now restart your application, and hopefully the printer will now default to portrait. I hope these work on other Windows versions, as I can't remember the exacts steps for older Windows. If you get stuck, I could try to find out exactly how to do it. HTH Mike. |

In doing so, I had not checked and had two icons in my Printer Print preferences. One was set to Landscape and I had not checked that one although I had the other. It justy goes to show. Dell P. |
