47690 2002-05-07 23:42:00 does anyone know how to restore the jdbgmgr.exe file on Windows 98?
I went into to panic mode when I received the email and deleted it as soon as I found it and THEN I checked it out and discovered it was a hoax - now I need to be able to restore that file.
Many thanks
Di

You may need your Win98 installation disk to do this, or you may have all Win98 options on your hard drive at c:\windows\options\cabs, in which case you probably won't need the installation disk.

Click Start, Run, type in SFC then press Enter. This will start up Win98 System File Checker utility. Click the option to 'Extract one file from installation disk'. Type in jdbgmgr.exe in the box. Click Start. In the 'Restore from' box browse either to c:\windows\options\cabs OR to the Win98 folder on your CDRom. The utility should be able to locate the file and restore it for you.

Hope this helps,
Rod.
