47710 2002-05-08 05:41:00 This time I will ask the right question.....

Can anyone enlighten me as to what Ossproxy is?

It is on a friends computer, running WinME.

It was ticked in the msconfig startup but if you remove the tick it simply recreates itself.

It also appears in the system box when you go Ctl.Alt.Del.

If you leave it in there and go onto the net, it brings up a illegial operation box and asks if you want to close it. It cannot be closed though you are able to work over the top of it.

It also appears to be a major cause of problems when they try and shut down the computer.

If the ossproxy is removed from the system box as soon as the computer is started, there appears to be no problems.

I have yet to see the computer as it is about 4 hours drive away on the other side of the city so right now I am casting the net for idea's and info.

OSSPROXY is the system tray icon for the 'Marketscore Internet Accelerator'. Not required - and has no install/uninstall program.
