| 47683 | 2002-05-08 02:16:00 | I have installed IE 6 and want to change the search engine to Google. Isn't there a script that can be typed into the address bar to change the default search engine ? ( I did it for IE 5.5 but cant remember how it goes ). PS - I know you can download the complete 'Toolbar' from Google but I wish to retain whats left of my viewing screen - another toolbar is not what I need. Cheers Des |

In the options window, click on the Languages button at the bottom, and make sure that English US is the first option in that list. Now click okay to close the two windows. Now click the search button from the IE toolbar. In the box that appears on the side of the screen click the Custom Button. In the new window that opens up you should be able to set all your search settings, including your default search engine. HTH Mike. |
