| 47669 | 2002-05-08 01:09:00 | people have received a rogue email which is masquerading as a virus alert. The subject includes the words ?Virus Alert?. The email advises the recipient to: a) Delete a file on their local C drive called Jdbgmgr.exe and b) To forward the email message to everyone in their address book. If you receive this email please delete it immediately. Under no circumstances should you delete the Jdbgmgr.exe file on your C drive or forward the rogue email to anybody else. The Jdbgmgr.exe file is a legitimate Microsoft Windows file. If you have deleted the Jdbgmgr.exe file, some Java applets may not run correctly Regards Roger www.computerforce.co.nz |

| 47673 | 2002-05-08 02:38:00 | If you have deleted JDBGMGR.EXE from your system, it can be restored by installing updated version of Microsft Virtual Machine or Internet Explorer. Please note that some e-mail worms (for example, Magistr) might sometimes send an infected JDBGMGR.EXE in an e-mail attachment, but this infection is caused by Magistr not JDBGMGR by itself. So the bottom line is, if you receive JDBGMGR.EXE or any other windows component by email, it is most probably a file infected by a virus. If you find JDBGMGR.EXE from your system directory, it is most probably a clean file. |
