| 47989 | 2002-05-09 12:14:00 | Hi I admit I was wrong! I bought an extension USB hub and inadvertently removed the HP1200 printer plug without going through the proper procedures - at least so far as HP are concerned. Now I continue to get a message at regular intervals reminding me of my errors. I have learnt my lesson I think but how can I tell my PC that! Any ideas - I have reinstalled from the CD twice but to no avail and the system persists with this pop up message TIA Ron |

You will probably have to go through something like this: 1- Uninstall 2- Reboot 3- remove stray files and directories 4- reboot 5- confirm that your printer is no longer there 6- reboot (I'm not kidding!) 7- Plug the printer in 8- if at this stage it is not auto detected, yep, reboot 9- reinstall the drivers. I have had similar problems with HP printers and scanners, and have found this to work the best. Hope it helps. |
