47914 2002-05-09 06:48:00 about 6 mo's ago i upgraded to a 1300 AMD CPU and dont seem to be able to connect to my old 450 AMD anymore - both are setup identical and run on win98 SE but dont see each other 4 some odd reason -however.. the old 450 every now and then crashes itself trying to connect and visa versa if trying to connect from the 450 to 1300.
Even bought new cables from DSE but no go -- - WAS ok on win98 SE (450)verses win98 ME (1300)going via the *find puter - but i reverted back winSE on BOTH - 4 better OS less probs and more stable.
Any suggerstions ???

Print this out, take it to school and get your teacher to mark it.

Don't be surprised if this ends in a rubbish bin since it is poorly written and makes little sense.

Firstly, what protocols do you have set up for networking on both machines?

If you have TCP/IP and have set static IP's, try to ping the other one from each computer. If the ping is not successful, try a local ping of each machine (127.0.0.1). If that doesn't work; re-install network card and TCP/IP.

If you report back - we can go from there.
