| 47861 | 2002-05-09 02:36:00 | Hi having this annoying problem, can anyone help. When I am connected to the internet using internet explorer the computer peridicaly attempts to search the `A` drive. It attempts to read the drive about 4 four times. this tends to not only make a noise but slow the system down. It only seems to do this when I am using the internet, as far as I am aware no other applications are open other than Norton internet security. I am using Windows ME. Regards, Stefan |

If there is a document in that, that was accessed from a floppy, it will try to check that the document is still there. Try clearing your Document History (right click on the taskbar, select properties then Start Menu Programs tab. A button there will enable you to clear the Document History. If it works, let me know! |

Have a look at a posting further down the list with subject A:RANDOM SEARCH posted 8-5-2002 at 15.07.14 HTH PC |
