48016 2002-05-09 23:16:00 1) Anyone know how to access the Word 'Symbols' page for use in text in an Excel cell?

2) Is there any way of tagging cells (at random) in a spreadsheet so that they can be later selected for a function ? e.g. SUM(any cell that contains a *) ?

If it is available to Word on your computer it is also available to Excel and should appear in the font list.

2. The function 'SUMIF' can be used for this purpose. Search Excel Help using SUMIF and it will give examples to follow.

I hadn't met the SUMIF - I'l give it a burst. Thanks again.
