48293 2002-05-11 09:14:00 Bought pieces of PC put together and no worries all goes well for the day. Put it away for a day. Next day install network card and turn back on - nothing, no power at all? Does't POST!

Any ideas?

I tried different PSU hoping? Also unplugged everything.

750 Duron on Gigabyte 7ZMMC with lots of ram. Modem was the only other PCI card installed.
Could I have fried it? I take the touch the case before approach.

48294 2002-05-11 09:34:00 When putting in the network card did you knock a wire off somewhere? Check all your connections before panicing. Guest (0)
48295 2002-05-11 09:42:00 Check the seating of any plugin cards - PCI, AGP etc, by looking along the connector and make sure the edge finger is completely down in the socket. If cards are not seated fully, they can give the type of grief you are experiencing. Guest (0)
48296 2002-05-11 22:01:00 I have taken out all cards and unplugged IDE and floppy, still no show, the CPU fan doesn't even start up?

What is the scenario for testing it? Repairing if possible?

48297 2002-05-13 03:36:00 The motherboard has code in the BIOS which will run with nothing (except a CPU and PSU) plugged in.

It could be a dud motherboard. Or a dud CPU. Or you might have 'static discharged' into the CPU ... ouch.
