| 48270 | 2002-05-11 07:21:00 | Would like to clean up my computer but have no idea how. 2 programs I read about in Imag, Add/Remove Plus, and Perfect Companion clean out remnants of files, which would be the best to use or anything else I could try. I have an old computer with win95 and it has slowed up considerably. So anything to help would be greatly appreciated:-) | Guest (0) | ||
| 48271 | 2002-05-11 08:33:00 | Hi Jutta, I have not heard of Add/Remove Plus or Perfect Companion but another one that I would like to suggest is Norton Cleansweep. These programs do their best but can not fix everything. Personally I prefer to manually delete the files and then run a registry cleaner like regclean freely downloadable from microsoft. A slow system is usually a result of a large registry containing redudant entries from previously installed programs. If the system is really slow and you have some time free then nothing beats reinstalling windows from scratch. The results will amaze you. |
