I have chosen a particular wallpaper which shows in the mini monitor in Display Properties,but it only appears briefly on screen at start up and close down.How can I make it so that it stays as the desk top background rather than the dull pastel colour I have at the moment |

Try turning off your active desktop. Also make sure it is a .bmp file. You can view .jpg and .gif pictures as wallpaper, but active desktop needs to be enabled and I have had varying degrees of success with this. |

Thanks Elwin. Turned off Active Desktop and it worked. As well as getting the desired effect,I don't seem to have lost anything in the process. Usually there's a trade off somewhere when you make an adjustment. Appreciate your help. b.w |
