I am trying to set up a D-Link router for jetstart for my home. According to all of the paperwork everything is connected properly. When I go into the modem properties it stats that it is connected and displays the global IP address. But I still cannot connect when using IE 6 - Tried ping and straight IP addresses and still cannot connect at all. Any Ideas ??? |

Having just gone thru the exercise, one thing that wasn't xstal clear was the need to go to contol panel-network-TCIP properties and add the address of your ISP into the DNS fields |

Thanks for the help guys. After being on the phone for about 2 hrs today and getting no where - basically all of my settings were correct. I decided on the off chance to try and upgrade the router's firmware as a last ditch effort before I took it back to the store and low and behold it took off working like a champ. I'm not quite sure why it needed that, but it did work ! YES !! I am now a happy man ! Take Care and thanks for your help ! Regards, TR |
