48491 2002-05-12 10:25:00 How can I make a copy of my game cd for a backup. Many cd's have been ruined due to scratches.

When I try to copy a cd using nero 5.5 I get an error message failed to burn, which is something to do with the copyright preventing copy.

I have also tried copying the cd to the hard drive then burning all the files to a writable cd. All the files copy and the size of data on the burned cd is the same as the original, but when I try to run the game it tries to start then gives the message 'insert correct cd'.

I have just downloaded 'stomp' (another burning program) is it worth trying this or is it something that cannot be done.

Help please

Mike.

Also try Clone CD from <www.elby.org it has a reputation for being very good at backing up CDs.

48493 2002-05-12 13:07:00 Well, I'm going to assume that if you are using Nero 5.5, then you will have a newer cd-writer?

Anyway, go to http://gamecopyworld.com

Follow the links through... I use 'CloneCD'... does the trick for me every time.

Cheers,

Lo.

48495 2002-05-15 14:36:00 Thanks for the tips I have had success with
the CloneCD software, but I have one problem.

When trying to play a copy of The Sims House Party expanson pack on my Cyberdrive CW038 (which I used to create the immage to hard disk then burn the CD as per CloneCD)
I get an error - 'Sims has caused an error in DF394B.TMP.'

The disk plays OK on my Aopen DVD player, I don't get it?
