| 48387 | 2002-05-12 02:37:00 | Hi, Recently, when performing a restart after installing new software or scanner drivers, my BIOS hangs just before it performs the POST of the HD's. Any idea what would cause this. Next time I restart I will note my BIOS version etc, etc - I know it is an award system. A press of the reset switch does the trick. It's got me stumped. G P |

I think what you describe suggests that the hard drive is not quite ready--when you turn your computer on the hd powers up and does mysterious things--if the bios is too quick for it then bios will hang.Is there some way to slow the bios? Why does your new software cause this? Sorry--more questions than answers dumdugie |
