48344 2002-05-11 22:26:00 Hi Fokes out there in foke land,

Have you looked at 'mailwasher' http://www.mailwasher.net/ you can see what
mail you have before you down load it, if you do not like it you can send it
back. What a bloody good program, this is the first time I have sent some money off (could be because they are in NZ)

Reported in the Massachusetts Bar Association Lawyers Journal,
5. Q: 'You say the stairs went down to the basement?'
A: 'Yes.'
Q: 'And these stairs, did they go up also?'

I think if everyone use it, it will choke the boxes of those who send junk mail and they will give up.

48346 2002-05-12 04:36:00 There are four problems with this.

(1) Collateral damage. Innocent parties can get hurt. Some of the senders of junk are clever. They manage to get their garbage redirected through other people's systems.

(2) They don't care. They use temporary free addresses to send from. Legitimate users of those services might suffer. See (1).

(3) The trip one way to you has used network bandwidth. The return trip does that too.
It is waste.

(4) If you bounce to an innocent person whose address has been used, that person can complain about YOU. That could get you cancelled, terminated, spindled or mutilated by your ISP. See (1).

The best way is to IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE.

48348 2002-05-13 11:32:00 Ernie, to answer your question of 'who gives a ****?'

No-one really, er, except, the people who spends millions laying more and more fibre around the globe, so we can get more data quicker. The people who use the internet, they are the ones who complain, as i sometimes do, when things are a little slow. Maybe too the people who have websites and the such like, people who want thier stuff on your screen the moment you click.. Maybe also those who run the servers, and the routers, cause they also want to see everything running as fast as possible.......

other than that, probably no-one gives a **** about the noize cluttering the systems.
