| 48692 | 2002-05-13 11:51:00 | Hi Folks, thankyou for the past help with reformatting my hard-drive. Now I am reloading the 1.5GB hard-drive. I put w95 on then upgraded with W98. Now I have no music, it worked before, now no sound. Now if I remove W98 will my internet connection and e-mail server stay stay in tact and running? The main reason for removing W98 is that I want to keep as much free space as possible. And with the computer now unable to find the sound card it may be better to stay with W95.My digital camera wil not download pictures now either and I have reloaded the program 3 times , still no go. So the bottom line is shall I dump W98 and keep W95? |

Try looking in device manager and see if it is listed or has any problems. If it's not there, then goto add new hardware in control panel and let windows search for new hardware. Taking 98 off, will probably stuff up the internet setup. If the camera needs USB then it won't work in 95. I presume you have a serial connection, that will work OK in 95. Why don't you consider taking 95 off and leave 98 on, it has a lot more features. Though if your computer is not very powerful, say less than a pentium 166, then it will run faster with 95. Depends how much ram you have as well, say less than 32mb stick with 95. |
