Describe your computer systems (OS etc), what you have done so far to set up your network, whether it has worked previously or is a new install. Do you have TCP/IP set up on both computers? For two computers you shouldn't need a domain name, I have three W2k & one W98 networked without domain names on a peer to peer network, they are all working well and I'm a novice networker! Put more information up and you should get all the help you need. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 48664 | 2002-05-14 07:52:00 | OK My OS is win98. I do have TCP/IP on both computers. This networking system has worked before but has always been pretty dodgy. My computers are connected by a USB to Network Card. They are not connected up all the time only when we want to backup data etc. One computer is Netgear the other is Surecom. The Netgear computer is picking up the other computers' signal but it cant acces it. The Surecom one cant pick up the other one or itself and when u try to click on anything you have to wait for about 5 min then it says that 'The network is currently unavaliable, please check connections and try again later' Hope this helps Liam :-) |
