Thanks

48584 2002-05-13 02:48:00 Two ways and both use the floppy disk.

Open your address book and File>Export>Address Book and follow the prompts, instead of saving to your hard drive just point the save to your Floppy.

Or open your address book select all of your contacts and copy/paste onto a Floppy. They will be saved as vci files.

If possible, which ever way you do it, make sure the contacts have been imported into the new system before you delete from the old. That's why I always make a second copy using the copy/paste to get the vci files, if the address book will not import back for some reason, all is not lost.

48585 2002-05-13 03:57:00 Download a shareware program called 'Inachis'. Using this you can back-up both OE and IE. you'll need to have Inachis on the other PC too. It's a great little program! Guest (0)

Cant believe u cant even do this! Don't make me laugh!!

Well use the import and export command of outlook highlighting the main folder and tick include sub folders.

If u are copying to a CD and transporting it .. make sure after u copy from CD-R to new PC ... u change it so its not read only in the properties or Outlook would refuse it saying not enough priviledges even if u have admin rights.

you could however export it to a netowrk drive of the new PC. and then import it from the new pc itself.

48587 2002-05-13 05:14:00 when exporting choose what type u want is up to u.

i tend to choose pst format since i have the entire profile on the new pc. like inbox, outbox, drafts, sent, other ones u have persoanlly created. also the crucial contacts u have and the diary list u may have.

A PST file can easily be over 10MB ... with compression.
