| 48866 | 2002-05-14 21:45:00 | I am unable to browse web pages or receive e-mail using IE & OE v6. I can PING 216.239.37.101 (www.google.co.nz) but can't download the webpage using IE. The PC had McAffee AV and McAffee firewall. The Klez virus was cleaned off using the SARC removal tool. I suspected the firewall was causing the browsing problem. With the aid of articles sent me by McAffee support, I removed the firewall manually and cleaned the registry of all references to it. I removed and reinstalled TCP/IP and the dial-up adapter. I still can't browse webpages. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanx |

Is this a new system with AV and firewall installed from the outset, or was IE and/or OE working initially then disappeared after these were installed? Were things OK before you got Klez? Are you unable to load any web pages at all (you refer specifically to Google NZ)? | Guest (0) | ||
