| 48843 | 2002-05-14 11:14:00 | jus wondering i can make a txt file that lists the contents of a folder on my drive by goin into Dos, changing directory to the one whos files i wanna list in a txt file using this command dir>list.txt how though would i make a txt file of the contents of a cd rom eg a mp3s cd with 150 songs . would it be a variation of the earlier command i usually use?.. thanks your help is appreciated Steve S |

| 48844 | 2002-05-14 11:34:00 | change to CD drive by typing the drive letter followed by a colon : then type dir *.*> C:\list.txt replace c:\ with the drive and directory you want the file created in. Good old DOS eh? :-) |

| 48845 | 2002-05-15 02:16:00 | That will work, but I got sick of the poor configurability options using that dos command for large amounts of CD's. I use a freeware utility callep Expprint (Explorer Print) whuich adds a simple right-click option to explorer. It is very basic to set up, and you can configure tab stops etc for a nice layout, and can do all the other things dos can like list alphabetically, by file size etc, exclude file types, or directories etc etc. Search for it Expprint (two p's) G P |
