| 48819 | 2002-05-14 10:14:00 | I use 'Cashbook' (which appeared recently on a PC World cd, and which I can recommend). Recently I installed 'Ftgate' which is a mail server that lets me collect email from a variety of ISPs and then send them to mailboxes on my small network. While Ftgate is running, when I start Cashbook it shows its startup splash screen, says it's loading data, then freezes until Ftgate is shut down, after which it happily continues. A couple of other programs, one being the installation program of Acrobat, does the same opening splash screen and then freeze till Ftgate shuts down. I also installed a (very good) program that lets other users on the network share the same MS Outlook folders (contacts, calendar etc). It also causes Cashbook to freeze after the opening splash screen. Anybody got any bright ideas? I'm running XP Pro with 500 meg or so of ram. |
