| 48806 | 2002-05-14 08:38:00 | Tuesday, 14 May 2002, 07:43:15:p.m. I have a 450 clock speed Pentium 3, running Win 98 SE and which has a 128MB RAM. I have Netscape 4.79 and IE 5.00 browsers set up and they functioned well. I then installed Norton Clean Sweep 2002 v6.0 and this program cleaned the caches etc. in one simple operation without any hitches. Then the problem, I was persuaded to try Netscape 6.2.1 and I installed this in addition to 4.79 and IE 5.00 above. Now when I use Netscape 4.79 and then use Norton Clean Sweep to clear the cache, Norton tells me there is nothing to clear. If I go through Windows Explorer and check the Netscape cache folder, it does have files! So Norton now is not recognising these files. Norton does not seem to have a way of setting up a path to the cache file manually. I have tried uninstalling Norton and reinstalling it, and have used live update (which promoted me to V6.1) but still Norton is very much stumped! Does any one know how to help me? Also does anyone know where Netscape 6.2.1 keeps its cache files as I can't find anything in any of its folders with the name 'cache' which Netscape 4.79 uses. Thanks for any help or pointers to where I may turn. Peter Mundy. |
