| 48727 | 2002-05-13 20:49:00 | When troubleshooting my files - I went into the Windows/ Start/ folder and in there is every program I ever installed? Guess they all load everytime I boot? - taking a lot longer to get going Can I safely delete them and just open the files as required? - some I do not use very often? Thanks, Simon |

The programs that are started on bootup are (shortcuts) in your 'Windows / Start Menu / Programs / Startup' Folder. If anything in there is a shortcut, and you don't want it starting on bootup - you can delete it, no problem |

If you delete these links then you won't be able to open any programs from your start menu. The Startup folder that loads programs at startup is found in Windows/start/programs/startup You can delete things out of here, but be careful what you delete, as you may cause something not to work at all.
