| 49003 | 2002-05-15 09:49:00 | when I boot up Win95 on my old 586, I recieve a blue screen of death telling me that my drivespace and doublespace drivers are mismatched. I press any keyand Windows boots up as normal. The only trouble is that it uses up memory that is necessary to run some programs I have. I can startup without doublespace by pressing F8 at bootup \ and selecting step by step confirmation \ load doublespace (Y\N) N \. the computer does not load Doublespace and all programs run as normal. I want to fix te root cause of this problem though (but I'm stumped) so I dont need to do this every time I start up my Computer. Any ideas? Thanks, Jason |

If you have lots of hard disk space then you can uncompress your drive, this means that neither driver will have to be loaded and give you more free memory. You can also prevent these drivers from being loaded permenantly by removing the entry from autoexec.bat or config.sys (not sure which). Open these files using notepad and remove the entry which refers to the problem driver. |
