48996 2002-05-15 09:33:00 What's with IE6 Media ?
How can I stop it from updating / downloading it's own 'agenda' when I use IE6 to download some files ???

Is it time I gave IE the flick ? if so what browser options are there ?

I presume your reffering to Windows Media Player. Thats what it sounds like. Go into options and uncheck the autoupdate & accessing the net stuff.

Cheers.

48998 2002-05-16 10:39:00 Thanks G McG But ....

Even in Windows Media Player when I go to Tools, Options there is only the Player tab that seems to have any relevance (or am I missing something ?)

AND under Portable Device when I click on Details for Currently Supported Devices Internet Exploerer immediately searches the internet ..

This is the sort of thing I do NOT want - that's just MicroSoft invasiveness in my books

Time to UNinstall Windows Media Player version 7.1 whatever and downgrade or use somethingelse or NO media player at all !

Thanks
