| 48971 | 2002-05-15 08:17:00 | .png stands for 'Portable Network Graphics'. You should be able to change formats quite easily, I don't know anything about PhotoIt but it should work in most graphic editors. Open the .png file in your editing program, go File => Save As... The dialog box that opens should have a 'save as file type' drop down list...select 'JPEG file interchange format' , rename the file if necessary and select the save location...click 'Save' and your done! |

| 48974 | 2002-05-15 17:03:00 | Keep in mind that jpg files are 'lossy' and png files are lossless. In practice this means that if you're going to fiddle around with those jpgs, edit them a bit and resave them you're going to lose some quality each time you re-save them. PNGs are great because they take up less space on your hard drive than other lossless formats (like bmp and tiff), and they can be edited and resaved forever without losing quality. Can't figure why you can't delete the PNGs. I've never struck that problem. |
