| 48907 | 2002-05-15 03:42:00 | I don't know if there is a connection or a coincidence but not long after trying this out for the first time I have lost all my favouite sites from the drop down menu that appears when you click the little arrow to the right of the address window in I.E.6 .Now there's just a big blank window.Even newly visited sites won't appear in it.Is Xen the culprit or have I done something else unrelated ? My history is still intact. | Guest (0) | ||

| 48909 | 2002-05-15 12:31:00 | Other clean-up progs seem to do the same thing - both Spider and CacheSentry empty those folders even when Spider has the the options set to not do so. Possible workarounds are to run these progs manually (ie not automated) and before doing so either rename the Favorites and History folders or move them to another partition or drive. I would suggest doing both until you check out what works. Another option would be to find out which method works (I am sure the second does but I need to confirm the first) then write a batch file to run the whole rigmarole and fire up the prog with that. | Guest (0) | ||
| 48910 | 2002-05-15 12:41:00 | I have just thought of yet another option. A lot of people seem to consider that losing the contents of the History and Favorites folders is a worthwhile price to pay for having a clean machine. I find losing the Favorites especially is a pain. An alternative, if you can put up with losing History, would be to let Xen do its normal thing, but use a homepage like nzcity (nzcity.co.nz I think) which has a handy built-in Favourites panel. | Guest (0) | ||
