| 48890 | 2002-05-14 23:33:00 | My boss is replacing her home pc, and has been quoted $700 plus gst for Office XP Pro (she needs powerpoint). Computer shop states that Office XP Pro retails for approx $1400 and they are supplying her at 1/2 price. Is this correct, or are they pulling her leg. Any help much appreciated. Cheers |

The computer shop would supply an 'OEM' (Original Equipment Manufacturor <sp?) copy - which is only available for a customer to purchase with a new PC - It's not the standard 'off the shelf' copy, as sometimes they are modified and contain shorter documentation - but essentially it's the same thing :) |

If your boss has another version of Office check to see if its eligible for an upgrade version of Office XP Pro at a greater saving (either from the computer shop or purchasing elsewhere).
