49244 2002-05-17 01:37:00 I recently installed the trial
version of AdSubtract.
This application apparently
added a 'proxy' (AdSubtract 4444 )to the Internet Settings. The 'Use proxy'box must be ticked or ads won't be blocked.
The application works fine blocking ads as it is supposed to do.
But here is my problem !
I usually shut down my computerwith the 'Start' 'Suspend' command in Win95, and the computer goes into 'Sleep' mode. Upon starting up again(Awake) and accessing the Internet (Xtra and Internet Express) the message 'The page cannot be displayed ' comes up on any web site chosen.
This does not occur if a full
'Shut down' and Restart is done.
Any ideas?
Al.

49245 2002-05-17 05:00:00 The proxy will maintain a cache of anything it has got for you. To stop it filling up your disk, it will empty the cache of anything not used for a certain time. If that time limit is exceeded while the computer is asleep, the proxy probably zaps everything as its first action after you wake it up. The browser probably 'knows' that these pages are locally cached, so it asks the proxy.
The proxy says 'What?'.

Try Ctrl/F5 to force the proxy to reload the page.

The Ctrl/F5 did not fix the problem.
