1300716 2012-09-13 05:53:00 My 8800Gtx gfx card died so I brought a new gtx550 ti to replace it.
I instilled the graphics card and I get no display what so ever.
I have made sure the gfx card in inserted properly it has the psu connected which is a 620W psu.
I have tried using both the VGA port and the dvi port but no luck

Any help?

1300717 2012-09-13 06:04:00 Does your motherboard have a vga/dvi/hdmi port? See if you get an image using that, even if the nvidia drivers are installed. Also pci-e is set as your "first" option in the BIOS right? icow (15313)
1300718 2012-09-13 06:06:00 No there is no on bord on my mother bord and I installed it to the same port I took the 8800gtx out of altrounson (11366)
1300719 2012-09-13 06:20:00 You are certain the fault was with the 8800gtx?
Not say the Motherboard?
Have you access to another PC to test the 8800?
Have you tried booting in safe mode, to eliminate a driver issue?

1300720 2012-09-13 06:23:00 No I wasn't able to but all the symptoms showed were commen with 8800gtx gfx cards and safe mode didn't help I used to still get some what of a display with the 8800 not like the 550 that's not doing anything altrounson (11366)
1300721 2012-09-13 06:45:00 Could be a dead/dying board. Maybe even a faulty PSU. ChazTheGeek (16619)
1300722 2012-09-13 07:09:00 Update: I swapped the gfx card into the second pci slot worked swapped it back to the main one worked doint no what the problem was but I'm away laughing no problems altrounson (11366)
1300723 2012-09-13 07:25:00 Probably a faulty PCI-e slot. Good you got it sorted. ChazTheGeek (16619)
1300724 2012-09-13 07:27:00 might pay to make sure it's not running in 8x mode, being in the second port. I had mine running in 8x mode when I first put mine together. Not much you can do if the original is bust, but yeah. 8ftmetalhaed (14526)
1300725 2012-09-13 07:36:00 I thought about that aye...wasn't sure though. ChazTheGeek (16619)
