| 1299899 | 2012-09-09 21:49:00 | Hi Could anyone tell me in terms of performance is it worth upgrading to a GeForce GT 610, www.geforce.co.uk from a GeForce 9600GT www.nvidia.co.uk It's about a £40 swap, was just wondering if the performance difference was actually tangible. Danke |

The 9600GT was a mid-range card, the 610 is an entry-level card at best, despite being 3 generations newer. You will only see a benefit if you're specifically taking full advantage of the features the newer architecture offers. Raw performance, in most situations, the 9600GT will match or better it. Danke Interesting, I have 96GT at home and 610 in old work PC, now have 620, however I believe neither will be as quick as the 96GT |

| 1299904 | 2012-09-10 05:04:00 | To reinforce what's been said, It's too new to be on this table; www.tomshardware.com But from what I can gather the 610 is based on the old 520 which is so far below the 9600GT it's not even in the same ballpark. 9600GT is a gaming card from a few years back, 610 is Not a gaming card at all and might do for home theatre or basic desktop duties but that's about it. |

| 1299907 | 2012-09-12 07:25:00 | Asus are a pretty reputable manufacturer, when compared with the likes of Sapphire. As a rule of thumb, Asus, Gigabyte are brands to go for, Sapphire less so. Things like parts, warranty, cooling, are all things that change between the brands, despite being the same cards. |
