Many "whites" may hate some Maori for what they are doing but I dont believe they hate Maori for being Maori as a people. He is bang on about much of his comments though. |

I don't care what race they are I don't like them. Pretty much, and what Iantech said, even the Maori I know of who *don't* fall into the above categories are ashamed of the Maori who do. It's going to take a large cultural change on their behalf though to resolve some of those issues, something that doesn't look like happening with all the more free handouts and easier benefits / special treatment :-/ |

He probably would not acknowledge the true degree that luck had in his success. Many, many Maori are very hard working, and do a lifetime of hard graft to achieve a modest lifestyle. Their efforts are no less than Crimps efforts. I don't like the way big money is influencing politics. We've seen the mess it has made of USA, and we're allowing NZ to flow down the same path. Every year we allow the wealthy to cast an influence on politics we risk further polarising the wealth/poverty in NZ. Crimp should choke on his money, meanwhile the politicians should attempt to represent the MAJORITY of their people, not those with the majority of dollars. |

Certain other people just want to point to the ones that fit their preconceived notions and ignore the others that don't. As for maori specifically, I have two best friends who are maori. Neither have ever come near being like the idea of them that is promoted on this forum a lot. They are both hardworking, have nice homes, better cars than me, have terrific kids and grandkids and probably, at least in the case of one of them, makes way more money than you do. You, in this case, being most of the people I know of on this forum. The most lazy person I know, with the most excuses, who would probably fit the "bludger" category is a white NZ middle aged male. And I don't like the way a group of people get targeted all the time with these sort of comments, here or from those rabid Act party people. "Let's get rid of xx group and that will solve all our problems." Something similar caught on in Europe in the 30's too, look where that lead. |
