1299727 2012-09-08 23:00:00 Received a box of ikonik LED fans from a mate at work. I have never come across a 2-plug fan system before, so what will I need to get these running (LED as well)?

(forgive the blurry close-up.. I'm not the best camera man in the world lol)

1299728 2012-09-08 23:02:00 Plug it into a fan header on the mobo? Or to extend it, you'll need a 2/3 - 2/3 pin adapter (depending on how many pins those connectors have). So, you can screw it to the front/back of the case. And so it'll connect to a fan header

Something similar to this (www.acousticpc.com). Or this (www.google.co.nz)

But if you get the molex adapter, if you want to see the rpm of the fan, you cant. It needs to be connected to a fan header

1299729 2012-09-09 03:00:00 I've got a recent similar fan for my GPU heatsink and its basically just the "option", it'll take power from either independently. Shouldn't need both. Chilling_Silence (9)
1299730 2012-09-09 03:48:00 I wonder if I could wire it so that more than one fan is being run by a single molex connector?

It is possible I know, but would it work?

1299731 2012-09-09 04:06:00 Actually, I am guessing I need something like this: www.ascent.co.nz

I assume the female connector goes to the mobo, with 2 male ends to 2 fans

1299733 2012-09-09 08:25:00 My CM Scout case had fans like that from CM, in the case of those the 3 pin is a standard fan header for the fan and the two pin is power for the LED which allows the LEDs to be switched on or off independantly of the fan.
It could be the same for the ones you have.

I concur.
