| 49398 | 2002-05-18 06:15:00 | Hand shook as I was dragging a file into a different Favorite folder. Result - the contents of most of any favorites folder, which normally appears to the right of the folder list, when the mouse arrow is on that folder, now appear on the left and on top of the folder list, almost obscuring all the Folder names which are underneath. A nuisance if you want to go to another folder. A few folders still work in the normal manner with the contents showing on the right. I cannot work out how to get the folder contents back on the right side. There is no blue bar to drag it by. Doesn't fix itself when the computer closes down. Windows 98, Internet Explorer 5.1 with SP2 Any help appreciated - EC |

| 49400 | 2002-05-18 09:11:00 | Thanks Susan, I went into Windows Explorer but that was not the problem. I forgot to say it is only when you use Favorites from the start menu, and the list of folders comes up on the desktop. The files are all in the proper folders, but they show as almost covering the folders list. Can you go to your start menu, Favorites and then choose a folder. Imagine when the contents of the folder show on the right, that they are over on the left on top of the folders list but showing a little bit of it sticking out on the right hand side and think how to shift that list of folder contents, back over to the right of the folder list. I have tried dragging it when there was a folder with only one file in it, so I didn't get into too much trouble if it went wrong. All it did was put a separate shortcut on the desktop. When my hand shook, it happened so quickly I do not know what happened to shift most of the folder contents list to the left. I have looked at Settings - Task bar and Start menu but there didn't seem anything in there applicable. In the Folder options, there is a choice, restore defaults. Do you think that would put the list back in the proper place? Hate changing things in case I mess up something that is working OK. I appreciate your trying to help EC |
